A History of Growth

ErgoSystems was founded in 1992 in Bristol, England as ErgoSystems Ltd and quickly won a contract to create a Display Screen Equipment assessment and training software package for Texaco. Within a year, ErgoSystems had launched VDUWorkstation, so making the same benefits available to the wider marketplace. Software products rather than services soon became our core business and the launch of EScape (an evacuation modeller) in 1994 and ManHand (a manual handling training and assessment program) in 1995 quickly followed. Seeing the need for a marketing infrastructure to capitalise on this growing product range, ErgoSystems collaborated in 1995 with start-up software marketer, WMB, to create a range of CDM (construction safety) products. The success of this range led to the merger of the two companies in late 1996 to maximise the potential of both. In 1997 the success of our new product Safety Auditor won us the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Award for Product Innovation - still the only software product to have ever won such an award.In the spring of 1998, ErgoSystems teamed up with the Symonds Group, a major UK consultancy firm, to create the joint venture E-DM Electronic Data Management. Having developed an advanced document management system for building and construction infrastructure, the company now offers a complete outsourced archiving and management solution. The company has gone on to create many bespoke safety training and e-learning packages, concentrating on bespoke systems and supporting it existing product range..In 2007 the company was purchased by e-Learning WMB Ltd. This aquisition has boosted the Windows based application development capabilities of the e-learning WMB.
